| | Spring Weddings in VT? | | I just recently got engaged and although neither my fiance or I are from VT we have chosen Stowe VT to host our wedding. Now I have to pick a date. We'd like to take advantage of off peak prices so idealy we are thinking Spring (May 19th). My only concern is will it still be cold? I know that you can only predict the weather so much. Luckily it will be indoors but I have a lot of family coming from the Caribbean and Florida and I don't want them to feel cold. VT is beautiful and I can see them wanting to do some outdoor activities. July seems to get almost too hot. and humid. Any suggestions, whats a nice time of year/a nice month other than fall? Humm what about August but I hear it gets lots of rain. Why am I struggling with this. I guess I just want it to be perfect and for everyone to enjoy themselves. |

| | Re: Spring Weddings in VT? | | last may it rained something like 29 days of the month. my fiance and i picked early september because it seemed like the only month that we could count on great weather and not be into foliage season (and the high prices that accompany it). that said, vt is beautiful even when it rains, stowe is great, but be sure you have a backup plan if you're hoping to host any part of the wedding outside. and besides, wouldn't pictures with you guys under giant umbrellas dashing through the rain be so cute? good luck! |

| | Re: Spring Weddings in VT? | | every year is different. I am a wedding consultant here in Vermont and have done weddings at all times of the year. Since your wedding is mostly indoors, I wouldn't worry so much! this year has been warmer than usual already....we are seeing days in the high 70's which is a bit unusual. alot of rain in winter. very strange. so anything can happen anytime. even in the fall...August is typically not a rainy month....Stowe is beautiful with any type of weather. I have worked with every property in Stowe as they were my customers for over 14 years so know the properties well and what they offer. Where are you having your ceremony and reception? The off-peak time is April and May in Stowe. Best prices of the year. I too, got married in Stowe! Dec 1st wedding. It was lovely! Let me know how I can assist you.

| | Re: Spring Weddings in VT? | | Hi Susan, time has just flown by, is it June already. I finally got to reading your reply, thanks so much for your advice. We eventually picked July 7, 2007 (070707) and I can't wait. Rain or shine I am really looking forward to it. We are getting married at the Stowe Community Church and the reception will be at Stoweflake. If you have any comments and suggestions, feel welcome, the good the bad and the ugly, I want to be well aware of everything to make the day go smoothly. I'm not from the area so any advice you may have would be helpful. Thanks again for your reply back in April :) |
