| | suggestions for fall 2008 wedding; Mad river valle | | hi there; i am newly engaged and we are looking at a 2008 fall wedding;
it's tough finding a spot but we have looked at the farm at the mad river..any thoughts on this place; also looked at the round barn...
another place is basin harbor? any feedback on this site? thanks so much for any other suggestions... |

I'm very familiar with Basin Harbor, I live close by to it. Lovely area, can get rather expensive but if money isn't an issue, it's great. Especially if you want to be married close to the lake. My fiance and I are in the same boat- we drove all over VT this weekend. We were actually disappointed with BHC- it looked great from the outside, but their indoor facilities were not great. Tents are an option but get REALLY expensive. |

| | Re: suggestions for fall 2008 wedding; Mad river valle | | DEFINITELY go to the round barn. we looked everywhere in VT (basin harbor - smelly, overpriced, outdated facilities; castlerock - cookie cutter, no charm; skinner barn - great venue, but too small and too strict) and although it's pricey to do it at the RBI, we're so happy we are. the staff has been absolutely incredible to work with, and they will help you put together a day that is within your budget. stacey porter misenko is fantastic - request her if you do decide to have it there! |

i agree about basin harbor; great place but it just does not have the ambiance!
please let me know if anyone else needs advice and suggestions!
