| | Ceremony/Reception sites | | My fiance and I are planning an October 2009 wedding. His family is from the Addison County area along with close relatives that live in PA. My entire family is from central Vermont. We are trying to find a place for a ceremony and reception that would possibly be in between both locations. We aren't religous and do not want to have our wedding in a religous affiliated church. But also don't want our ceremony and reception to be in the same place. Any ideas? We've checked out the West Monitor Barn in Richmond as a possible reception site, and possibly having a ceremony at the Old Round Church in Richmond which has no certain religous affiliation and is not used for masses. So we like that idea? Any help would be great! |

| | Re: Ceremony/Reception sites | | hi ashley; hum..this does look great on the website; we drove by it last week and it's near route 89 which is a main highway; i would prefer a more remote spot;
how about the ponds at bolton valley; great spot!
good luck.. |

| | Re: Ceremony/Reception sites | | I thought of that, it is close to I-89 we've looked at the barn from the outside and it's a beautiful barn and would completely fit in with our vermont country themed wedding that we are hoping for. We do have a budget for the wedding, and I have looked at the Ponds at Bolton website and that was our number one choice, but we spoke with the owners and it may be out of our price range. Have you ever heard of the Old Lantern in Charlotte? I don't know anyone who has had a wedding there but the inside looks great and I've heard nice things about it. |

| | Re: Ceremony/Reception sites | | Hi Ashley,
I don't know if this helps but my friends are getting married October 2008 and that is excactly what they are doing for their wedding. They are having their ceremony at the Old Round Church and then the reception at the Monitar Barn. My friend could not be happier with her choices. She loves the barn because it is a blank canvas for her to do whatever she wants. Not that it matters but they are both from Addison County too!
I have heard nice things about the Old Lanteren too. She also thought of that place but a close friend of hers just had their wedding there and she did not want to copy. |
