| | reception sites | | I am newly, newly engaged and we have just decided that we want to have our wedding in vermont, craig is local but can only think of a few places he's interested in. We are both looking for somewhere with magnificent views, we're leaning towards barns/farms or even private homes. Our idea is to have a casual, relaxed day. The catch, we are definately on a budget as we are paying the majority of this ourselves. I'm willing to pay a good amount on our reception location and cut corners elsewhere, does anyone have any suggestions as we're heading up this weekend? Thanks so much! |

| | Re: reception sites | | Hi Marylynne, we just looked in southern Vermont at McCullough House, Wilburton Inn, West Mountain Inn, Equinox, and Stratton. They are all beautiful, esp McCullough House, where the reception is in a carriage house, and the pricing there seems more reasonable.
Good luck,
Heather |

| | Re: reception sites | | I strongly suggest the 1824 House. It's small and intimate and the service and food is spectacular. They have a beautiful barn in the back for a reception and some very pretty outdoor locations for the ceremony. We are getting married there in October and I am very confident that things will run very smoothly thanks to the professionalism of the people that run the place! |

| | Re: reception sites | | Marylynne,
Are you focusing on a certain region of VT? If you don't mind being further north, the Round Barn and the Skinner Barn, both in Waitsfield, are nice locations. |
