Zoe Ink
Zoe Papas prints and produces exquisite, custom-designed stationery. When she moved to Vermont in 1993, she had been dabbling in the arts of collage and bookmaking. But it wasn't until a letterpress class came to her attention that she thought about how the process might complement her work.
A curiosity became a love and then a commitment when a trip to an auction resulted in the purchase of an antique Chandler & Price Platen Press for $100. After converting the potting shed behind her 1930's home into a workspace, Zoe began creating personalized letterpress wedding invitations, announcements and more. She prints primarily on 100% cotton French and Italian paper - their thick, fabric-like qualities ideal for holding ink and for rendering the subtle weathered effect unique to letterpress print. The entire process - design, printing and assembly - takes place in her studio.
Her signature designs reflect the unique style and character of each individual client. Zoe meets and interviews them all personally. She knew intuitively what to ask, one bride said. The result is a one-of-a-kind, wedding invitation to level of beautiful and subtle artistry.
