When a mutual friend of Sylvia Limm and Eric Brown expressed interest in setting them up, both declined. Neither was going to be in Boston much longer: Eric was about to move to Los Angeles, and Sylvia was headed to New York. However, the pair couldn’t halt fate – soon after, they met for the first time despite their resistance and knew right away they were meant for each other. Two weeks later, they were living on opposite coasts. However, they couldn’t stay away for long. After nine months living apart, Sylvia joined Eric in California.
To keep the day modern, bright, and cheerful, Sylvia embraced a color palette of vibrant green, yellow, and orange. “I wanted to use my favorite colors that also captured the feeling of summer,” she says. As a nod to Eric’s Jewish heritage, the couple was married under a chuppah consisting of a total of four branches: two from each side of the family. They also incorporated Sylvia’s Korean heritage by taking part in a Korean bowing ceremony, in which each donned traditional Korean attire.
