Real Wedding: Celia & Mike
Catering: Cafe Sweet Basil, Photography: Kingdom Wedding Photography, Reception, Event Rentals: Inn at Mountain View Farm.
Hailing from Houston, TX, Celia & Mike met in high school. With a love for all things vintage, the bride and groom infused their wedding day with emblems of their personalities. Sunflowers, the couple's favorite flower, sat atop cakes and decorated bouquets. Personalized tea tins with the couple's name and wedding date were given out as favors.
An advocate for D.I.Y., Celia, friends and family made the wedding intimate and unique. Celia coordinated the event while her best friend made the wedding cake. Nearly all of the floral arrangements were cut and done by the bride, her close friends and kin. Celia & Mike were married at the Inn at Mountain View Farm in East Burke, Vermont. Old wine barrels with glass tops were used as tables, lanterns lit a path around the barn, both adding to the rustic feel of the event.
The reception itself was one of relaxation and intimate toasts. With amazing food and the bride's grandfather as the guitarist/songwriter, the evening was lovely and sweet. Celia notes that, "We don’t like “stuffy” events where everyone does the same thing and follows everyone else around, feeling awkward. We wanted our day to be very relaxed with no pressure to conform to any rules. Some of the guests strolled over to cocktail hour after the ceremony, some went and took photos of the incredible view and others went to the animal sanctuary and played with the goats and horses."
Ending the evening with their loved ones seated around a fire, sipping wine into the late hours of the night, Celia and Mike relived their day and enjoyed their new title as husband and wife. Celia shares some advice for future brides: "If something doesn’t go as planned, as long as you are married by the end of the day, you did something right. Don’t be afraid to go over your budget, because chances are, it will probably happen. And have fun! This is the biggest party you will ever throw!"
