A picture-perfect picnic wedding is exactly what springtime in Vermont is all about, and it was captured beautifully by 822 Weddings!  We’re all about Blaise and Martin’s big day in Moretown! Inspired by her Scottish heritage and the delightful idea of a potluck dinner with their guests, Blaise says, “I knew I had to have a bag-piper. I also knew I would wear my family tartan and Martin would wear traditional Scottish attire. Our guests brought everything from gourmet summer salads to Cocoa Pebbles. It sounds like an odd combo but it all came together so well!”

Photos by 822 Weddings showcase colorful details like red and white checkered table runners, shortcake and lemonade made with strawberries from the couple’s garden, and a profusion of breathtaking flowers from some of Vermont’s top florists: Mountain Flower Farm, Proud Flower, and Blue Toad Flowers.  We adore their knockout ideas like using quilted mason jars and pennants for decorations, purchasing flower girl baskets from etsy.com and even customizing loads of M&M’s.  “I really enjoyed being able help decorate the morning of the wedding. I spent some quality time with my best friends!” says Blaise.

Blaise’s tips for other soon-to-be brides:

1.  Don’t wait until the last minute to plan your wedding!

2.  Less is more!

3.  Have a bright and colorful palette to work with!

I adore those white chocolate-covered strawberries on the cake. Such a great pop of color, but unlike fresh flowers you can actually eat them! Very sweet photos : )
