Gone are the days in which a standard wedding cake was the only way to please your guests' sweet tooth at your wedding. Today, there are lots of different options when it comes to wedding day desserts - and only a fraction of them involve fondant.
Traditional brides may still enjoy indulging in a three-tier cake creation, however, many of today's cake designers are so creative and skilled, brides have a lot of room to express themselves through this tasty treat. Whether you want a simply classic white cake or something with fresh, funky flair, cakes aren't going anywhere in the wedding world - they're just getting more fun.
If you choose not to go for a cake, remember that cupcakes are another great option - they're portable so guests can grab one on the way out, and they also allow you to provide guests with sweets in an array of flavors, as opposed to a cake.
Of course, couples can always invest in a dessert bar, which is often as pretty as it is delicious. Dessert bars are an awesome way to include pies, chocolates, candy, brownies, and other desserts in a visually pleasing way that's convenient for guests and doesn't involve having anything plated to serve. Candy bars are another option, and are often as much a part of the decor as they are the desserts. Jazzed up with vintage containers and color-coordinating sweets, candy bars are super easy and relatively inexpensive. What's your dessert style?
