Peak Entertainment
When Newton Wells of Peak Entertainment enrolled in the Environmental science and Natural resource program at Johnson State College, he didn't expect that 14 years later he'd be making music at Vermont weddings.
When a gig at a local radio station brought him a few weekend DJ opportunities, word-of-mouth referrals made Newton Wells a Vermont wedding must-have. He hired friends to help him manage the burgeoning demand, and by the time he graduated from Johnson State, Wells had a booming small business on his hands.
Though Wells didn't pursue a career in environmental science, he put his green know-how to work building an environmentally friendly headquarters for Peak Entertainment, complete with solar panels and built from renewable materials.
Wells loves his work, but he's also passionate about his home state, which still makes him smile when he puts the top down on his vintage convertible to drive to a wedding celebration.
WELLS' MOTTO: "Being able to do what I love (work and play) is the key to life."
