A Wedding Story | Susan Lister Locke Jeweler

Commission work is a specialty for Susan, of Susan Lister Locke Jeweler, & her passion definitely shows in each handcrafted, exquisite piece.

Susan believes jewelry is very sentimental; so much of it has a very personal ‘story’...

"It all started when a client mentioned that his daughter was to be married on Nantucket the summer of 2009.  After showing them the photos of bridal jewelry that I had created for my daughter, they informed me of their preferred color palette, showed me a photo of the bride's gown & requested that I put a few designs together.

A studio visit made by the family to approve my designs - & an exciting trip with them to New York to purchase the diamonds & other gems - was the inspiration for all of the wedding jewelry - even the pearl wreaths created for the church doors.  The personal relationship & passion put into creating the jewelry made for a great 'wedding story'. It was an unforgettable & dazzling day for all of us!"

Commission work is a specialty - new designs or redesigning a family heirloom. "Creating new stories is also a great experience – often in my travels, I will find stones which remind me of a client – so, I’ll make a piece of jewelry for them & surprise them with the results – they are always thrilled & so am I!”
