No bride should have to choose between bold and sweet on her wedding day--have the best of both worlds with a beautifully contrasting palette of russet and blush. The soft femininity of pale pink flatters every skin tone, and lots of texture on gowns and accessories give the classic shade a sense of fun. For dramatic style your bridesmaids will love, columns of saturated color make sure the whole wedding party stand out of the crowd; and rich, rusty tones add needed depth to decorations.

Make your cake stand out with a few vintage-inspired decorations against a clean, chic, white fondant backdrop. Using found or homemade rosettes or bows can be a great way to subtly incorporate your color palette into your cake. Or get even more creative by using delicate lace, or crocheted doilies for a soft, feminine touch, or fun doorknobs and monogrammed napkins for a more retro feel.

When it came to a theme for their wedding, Samira and Brian knew just what they wanted.

"We really wanted a combination of elements. It had to be by the sea, jazzy and colorful with a relaxed vibe, and include the charms of early Americana," said the bride and groom.

From there, they set their eyes on Congress Hall in Cape May, New Jersey and let the venue set the tone for the rest of the way. From vintage Cape May postcards to the overall vintage vibe, the day took on "an almost Gatsby feel," said Samira, "but with our stamp on it."

Every bride deserves to make an impact on her wedding day. To keep all eyes on you from head to toe, step into a glamorously distinct pair of heels to complete your bridal look. Light-catching sparklers can act as jewelry for your feet, peeking out beneath your hemline with each step you take; and brightly colored pumps add a touch of fun to an all-white ensemble. For the avant-garde bride who plans to wear a shorter gown down the aisle, architectural footwear shows off a couture sensibility. And let's not forget the groom: a funky pair of socks add personal flair to the standard tuxedo.

When a mutual friend of Sylvia Limm and Eric Brown expressed interest in setting them up, both declined. Neither was going to be in Boston much longer: Eric was about to move to Los Angeles, and Sylvia was headed to New York. However, the pair couldn’t halt fate – soon after, they met for the first time despite their resistance and knew right away they were meant for each other. Two weeks later, they were living on opposite coasts. However, they couldn’t stay away for long. After nine months living apart, Sylvia joined Eric in California.
